Happy April! Or should I say happy winter 2.0?

Coming back from Mexico I expected cold weather but I did not prepare myself for yet another snowfall. It is now April, the month of rain, the start of spring, fun rain boots and lighter jackets but all we’ve seen so far is temperature drops and white snowflakes. I don’t know about you but I’m ready for spring.

Don’t get me wrong, I do love the cozy winter time. The look of white fluffy snow and wearing warm sweaters makes me happy, but after it reaches April (and after returning from a week sitting on the beach) the winter blues have hit.

Friday night in Minneapolis it snowed and I woke up to about an inch more on the ground. This amount was acceptable, not too much. But fast forward to Monday. In Madison it sleeted all day only to turn into snow for my walk home from my last class of the day. This was pushing it; April you are supposed to bring light showers for the next month’s flowers not icy snow.

However, there is an upside to all the snow and cold weather, getting to wear all your winter sweaters one last time!

The big knit baggy sweaters have been my go to. What isn’t there to like about basically getting to live in a soft blanket all day. Recently as the dates turn to spring but the weather stays in winter I have loved wearing my pastel purplish pink wide woven oversized turtleneck. It’s perfect for the lower temperatures, makes me feel cozy yet bright. The color keeps me hopeful for spring.

Get in your last days of sweater wearing but hopefully there isn’t too many more!
